If you’ve never been to Columbus, I suggest you plan a trip solely for the reason that you MUST visit Northstar Cafe. Whenever readers tell me they are visiting C-Bus and ask for restaurant recommendations, Northstar is almost always my #1 option. I can’t tell you exactly when in life my Northstar infatuation began, but I can tell you that it all started with their Chopped Salad.
You know how you go to your favorite restaurant and have your “usual?” That you order Every. Single. Time, without fail? And each time you go you tell yourself you’re going to venture out, get a little crazy and FINALLY try something new? But then, lo and behold, it’s time to order and you ramble off “One chopped salad, hold the croutons, please!” You can’t help it. You got nervous. You were 100% prepared to be adventurous and order the Buddha bowl, but when it came time, you cracked under pressure. Have you heard of FOMO? Fear of Missing Out (on the Chopped Salad). Emotional attachment is weird thing. But you would TOTALLY understand where I’m coming from if you could experience this salad for yourself, I just know it. So today, I’m bringing the Chopped Salad experience to YOU! On a scale of 1 to freaking out, how excited are you right now? Because I’ve been at freaking out for like three days already.
I’ve eaten this salad for lunch every single day so far this week and it just keeps getting better and better…AND BETTER. Confession: I’ve had to refrain from eating lunch at 10 AM during my internship rotation because I’m just too excited. How embarrassing am I? But the wait is totally worth it, you guys. TOTALLY.
Also, can we bathe in this dressing? Asking for a friend.
