Happy almost Cinco de Mayo everyone! How perfect is it that the holiday falls on a Tuesday this year? Because, Taco Tuesday. Aka the perfect excuse to stuff your face with endless tacos and corn chips slathered in guacamole. And OF COURSE margaritas. Can’t forget those.
Most store-bought margarita mixes are loaded with table sugar or (gasp!) High Fructose Corn Syrup as one of their major ingredients, so today I’m bringing you a margarita recipe that uses a natural sweetener instead. I know, I know, sugar is sugar right? But for me, if I’m going to indulge, I’d rather do it with some local honey and fresh lime juice than God knows what that comes in the store-bought mix. Who’s with me?
A few years ago my family was in Destin, Florida for Cinco de Mayo and from what I can recall, the following were involved: chips and salsa, flowing margs, and parents dancing to Pitbull songs (which they requested) on the patio of the restaurant we ate at. Ah, family memories. I can only hope this year is half as eventful.
Speaking of Destin, I am heading back in the next week or so and I am BEYOND excited. I’ve been super busy with my internship, blog projects, and work, and am more than ready for a little R&R. Destin is just the cutest little town and I can’t wait to bask in the sunshine and explore! Have you been to Destin? If so, I am ALL ears for suggestions on where to eat, hang out, explore, etc! Last time we didn’t have the greatest dining experiences in Destin, so I’m hoping that changes this time around. #helpus
Annnnd on a totally different note: my sister became a DOCTOR this weekend.
